Willy Street Co-op – East Grocery 270+ employees Major Accomplishments: • Identified opportunity for resource and financial savings • Located reputable vendor • Initiated test run at Willy St East Lesson Learned: • Allow time to locate vendors Goal: Reduce food waste, improve energy efficiency and save staff labor by installing aluminum roll top covers on open air refrigeration units
The Bruce Company Landscape & Retail 400+ employees Major Accomplishments: • 30 bulbs replaced in Phase 1 • Annual savings of $6355,292 kWh = 11,748 lbs. CO220 month ROI Lesson Learned: • Empower employees by involving in project decisions Goal: Reduce energy use through LED bulb replacement
Next Generation Consulting Service 4 employees Major Accomplishment: • New measures include data on food deserts, primary care physicians, access to recreational facilities, waste/recycling, urban forestry, broadband access, LEED projects, childhood obesity Lessons Learned: • Finding great, consistent data for cities is taking longer than planned Goal: Audit all 57 measures that create our Quality of Life Indicators for city clients with a sustainability lens

UW Health – Research Park Health Care 250 employees Goal: Create Research Park “Green Team” • Major Accomplishments: • Focusing efforts on ways employees can make a difference • Identified what is important to employees • Identified opportunities for early wins • Lesson Learned: • Communicate • Take time to focus on benefits beyond financial • Be patient Site of future employee garden
Pinney Branch Library & Habitat ReStore 30+ employees Major Accomplishment: • Expanded rain garden by 270 sq. feet Lessons Learned: • One small idea can snowball • Coordination is key • People are willing to give time and energy to causes that are important to them Goal: Improve water infiltration by expanding rain garden

UW - Credit Union Finance 220+ employees Major Accomplishments : • Lowered peak demand set in 2010 • 2011 peak demand set on June 7th • Electrical bill lowered by $22/day • Received no negative feedback Lesson Learned: • Make it fun Goal: Reduce overall energy use & Peak Demand using behavioral change
