Monte Carlo What is it? • New service software platform to cope with many handset platforms and 3G • Designed as a ‘suite’ of tools • Integrate other service tools eg: CB2000 • Integrate software download tools eg: WinMoDo • Single launch point and user interface • User sees little difference between platforms and products • Generic output reports and data inputs • Calibration losses / user settings (COM port etc..) • Calibration reports – Tx Cal / Rx Cal / Baseband Calibration • Supports different development methods: • Manufacturer A provides a complete solution in a DLL based on our requirements • Manufacturer B provides a complete solution in a DLL without the user interface • Manufacturer C provides part of a solution and we develop a Service Interface Layer (SIL) to complete the solution • Manufacturer D provides a complete solution in an executable David Rogers PMCE-CS

Monte Carlo Project Actions (updated) LONG-TERM • Platform supplier provides ActiveX DLL as defined by our requirements and functional specification • Supplier provides all auto-calibration except for new test equipment (developed in-house) • X900 integration • 3G integration • Out-of-scope functionality MEDIUM-TERM • Prototype system already developed • Compal use interface specifications developed to provide module for X500 • Work towards 2nd prototype: • Introduce source code control rules • Documentation • Introduce secondary requirement functions (eg: languages) • Review and develop requirements and specifications SHORT-TERM • Modify QCI code for A100 & X300 (COMPLETE) • Utilise modified DWD tool for reference design products – X60 / X400 / X200 / A500 / X700 / X410 • CMU200 driver development & integration to all new products (COMPLETE) • Factory software investigation • Basic common user-interface • Wrapper / Install-Shield • Standard GPIB • Standard Input / Output Data eg: cable losses & reports • X700 development in CVI (work with PMCDU) (ONGOING FOR CUSTOMISATION WORK) David Rogers PMCE-CS
Quick Adjust Tool (slide courtesy of DWD) Key features: LabView PC program (comes with LV source code) Runs with R&S CMU200. Implements adjustment of RF- & BB- parameters according to ATE#2 for E-gold and S-gold based platforms. 4 GSM bands (850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz) David Rogers PMCE-CS
Monte Carlo X700 Calibration • DWD Quick Adjust • The basis for auto-calibration for all Infineon based models: • X60, X400, X200, X700 and some 2005 models • Calibrates the handset (RF and some baseband checks) within 1 minute • Generates test reports in txt format • Planned work: • Manual adjustment • Integrate other automated power supplies for baseband calibration • Integrate black box solution for baseband calibration • Add Will’tek 4400 GSM tester • Test Agilent 8960 • Standardise for the future within the Monte Carlo service platform David Rogers PMCE-CS
