Welcome to Guitars in the Classroom where YOU can make an exciting difference in the lives of children.
Guitars in the Classroom brings music making to children of all ages in the places where they learn.
We accomplish this by training teachers to play guitar, sing, write songs for learning, and lead music in their classrooms.
Teachers learn together in free group classes that give them ALL they need to become music makers and music leaders.
Students love learning through singing, strumming, songwriting, and sharing music.Through songs, they remember what they learn and they feel good about this - and about themselves.Their class work and tests show the proof.Singing together also helps children feel a sense of belonging and strengthens the student teacher bond.Developing the music leadership skills takes teachers time and GITC provides this.
Teachers can stay in training as long as they wish while they develop their skills, finding new ways to connect with and teach their students- from the shyest to the most active … with all styles of learners!
Through GITC, every child can feel and know music’s power, beauty & many benefits- for learning, health, and happiness!
In a GITC classroom, each child receives daily opportunities to grow as an artist, a thinker, and a member of a creative community.
Guitars in the Classroom exists because special people like you realize what music means in the life of a child- and in our world- and they choose to make a difference.
GITC helps teachers develop a new way to help their students discover they are creative, talented, and capable.
Teachers with the curiosity to explore, the will to learn, & the heart to give are leading music to half a million children in the U.S. with GITC this year!
Enthusiastic participation on the part of foundations, local businesses, musical products manufacturers, artists, arts advocates, schools, parents, and the teachers themselves makes this all possible.
Guitars in the Classroom wishes to thankthese charitable organizations for their generous support!
