  2. Background • B42/B43 UE co-existence requirement of -50dBm/MHz need to be resolved as a legacy issue since -50dBm is thought not feasible for implementation. There have been discussions on this issue for almost a year, however no progress has been made. • There is very clear market demand for CA in Band 42 in some countries that don’t have Band 43. The WI CA_Band 42C completion in a timely manner needs to be considered in order not to be delayed by a legacy issue not specific to this WI!

Way Forward • Technically endorse the CRs for 2DL+2UL _Band 42C without Band 42/43 co-existence in RAN4#71 and keep the WI open until RAN4#72. • Replace -50dBm/MHz with reasonable UE co-existence requirement target on completing related evaluations in RAN4#72; • If the evaluations for Band 42/43 co-existence can be completed in RAN4#72, the CA_Band 42C CRs agreed in RAN4#71 shall be update to capture the relevant requirements for Band 42/43 co-existence. • If the evaluations for Band 42/43 co-existence cannot be completed in RAN4#72, the CA_Band 42C CRs agreed in RAN4#71 shall be presented to RAN#65 and the WI CA_Band 42C will be closed.
