But do you know there are around a dozen varieties of cement are there and can be selected based on your purpose. The cement price list also varies with different types of cement. It suits for most of the general building works and it is also the widely produced cement in the world. It has reasonable setting time with good strength. PPC Cement (Portland pozzolana cement) If the construction is expected to have resistance against chemicals and different metals in the water, this cement will serve that purpose. PPC has high resistance with chemicals and salts. It is mostly used for marine, bridge, underlying works and sewage structures. White cement This is also one of the well-known cement. It is used for architectural purposes such as facing slabs, floorings, interior, swimming pools etc. This is just like OPC, but high in cost. Another version of white cement is colored cement which is also used for decorative works. Hydrographic cement This cement used for building water tanks, dams and any structure that constantly come into contact with water. It has high water repelling properties and will not be affected by rains. Cement based on their setting time The ordinary OPC cement has around 7 days setting time and hence we have to wet the construction every day to help the construction from drying. But for some construction purposes, the setting time must be low. This is especially needed to build sewage or water canals or to reduce the construction costs. There are mainly three types of cement which has comparatively low setting time than OPC. The rapid hardening cement also well known for the fast setting.
