  4. … on things above • Eternal treasures • Matters of the kingdom • A higher place (ano) • Calling • Things of superior quality

  5. Put to death(nekroo = destroy the strength of) Whatever belongs to your earthly nature • Sexual immorality (thought, word, deed) • Impurity (anything less than 100%) • Lust (craving) • Evil desires (revenge, hatred, anger, resentment, bitterness, jealousy…) • Greed = idolatory (wanting more)

  6. Clothe yourselves with … • Compassion – pity, distress for others • Kindness – goodness in action, serving • Humility – lowliness of mind • Gentleness – mild tempered, not disputing • Patience – longsuffering restraint • Forbearance – suspending judgment • Forgiveness – unconditional favour • Love – unconditional commitment

  7. Why? • We have been raised with Christ v.1 • Our old life is dead v.3 • Glory is our destiny v.4 • God hates sin v.6 • That’s what we were saved from v.7

  8. So what’s your response going to be? • Confession (admit to God) • Repentance (turn away from / to) • Ask forgiveness (release from guilt) • Practice (put off / put on)
