Overview of the Presentation • Who is John Arcuri? • Why is John Arcuri running for Mayor? • Things John would not have supported. • What would John do different? • When can we vote? Who can vote? • Conclusion
Who is John Arcuri • Lived in Hurst most of my life, HEB schools. • US Air Force Veteran. • 10 years experience working for a large public agency. • Volunteer in youth sports. • Conservative - Christian viewpoint, low taxes and less Government.
Why I am running for Mayor? • Long time desire to represent the citizens of Hurst. • Bridge the gap between the current council members and the next generation of council members. • MAIG List concerns • Again, REPRESENT the citizens!!!
I would not have supported: • Spending 17+ million on “community meeting facility” now known as Convention Center. • A group of Mayors diluting our 2nd Amendment right. • Personal property taxes on leased vehicles. • Major road work projects on Precinct Line and Pipeline concurrently.
What I would I do different? • Communicate with, and represent the citizens and current business owners? • Place a higher priority on widening Pipeline Rd. and neighborhood revitalization efforts. • Promote a loyalty program to reward residents for shopping and dining in Hurst.
