Patrick Burns, a resident of Seattle, WA, is a Pro-Tem Judicial Officer who practices in Kent and Kirkland Municipal Courts. He is a well educated professional who completed BA in History from the University of Washington. Later, he enrolled at the University of Puget Sound School of Law. In 1998, he joined the Washington State Judicial College followed by the AOC Faculty Development Program. He also studied General Jurisdiction at the National Judicial College.

For 20 years, he worked as an independent lawyer at his private practice and helped a multitude of people seek justice. His consistent efforts combined with his in-depth knowledge and outstanding skill set enabled him to present the cases to the attorney in a manner that resulted in fair resolutions. Prior to this, Patrick Burns was the DMCJA Therapeutic Court Committee Chair. Some other judicial and legal activities in the past included Judicial College Faculty, DMCJA Spring Conference Faculty, DMCJA Board, Washington State Center for Court Research Board, and DMCJA Court Rules Committee. In addition, he also undertook the Substance Abuse Providers Standards Project and the Inter-jurisdictional Warrant Quashing Project in the year 2006 and 2007 respectively.
