The Way Out Out of Bondage Out of Bondage • Of the Old Law • Held man captive to sin (Galatians 3:12; 2:16) • Man needed deliverance (Acts 15:10-11) • Law nailed to the cross (Col 2:14; Eph 2:16) • Of Sin • Old law made no satisfactory provision for sin • Hebrews 10:1-4 • Sin results in death – spiritual separation from God • Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 6:23 Jesus’ death is the ONLY way out of sin

The Truth “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32) • The New Covenant • The same act that abolished the Old Covenant, established the New Covenant • Hebrews 8:13; 9:15-22; Luke 22:20 • Better than the Old Covenant – better hope based on better promises • Hebrews 7:19, 22; 8:6 Jesus is the ONLY way into the New Covenant

The Truth “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32) • Forgiveness of Sins • Through the shedding of His blood, Christ opened the way into the forgiveness of sins • Matthew 26:26-29; Hebrews 10:19-20 • What must we do to enter into this glorious relationship with Christ? • Believe in Christ (John 8:24) • Repent of sins (Acts 2:38; 17:30) • Confess Jesus (Romans 10:10) • Be baptized INTO Christ (Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:3-4)

The Truth “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32) • Brought INTO Christ at the point of baptism • Receive forgiveness and find salvation • Ephesians 1:7; 2 Timothy 1:10 • Must remain faithful • Revelation 2:10 Jesus is the ONLY way into forgiveness and salvation

  6. The Life Obedience to the TRUTH Obedience to the TRUTH “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) • A new life here on earth • We are now a NEW creation of God • Ephesians 2:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:24 • No longer serve sin – but rather righteousness • Romans 6:16-18 • Eternal life with God • When we live our life in obedience to Christ • 2 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Jesus is the ONLY way into eternal life!
