Objectives • To develop an understanding of the value and significance of starter and plenary sessions • To provide examples of a range of different starters • To provide examples of different types of plenaries
Jigsaws • Laminate and cut up photographs ( normally into 8 pieces). Number them and give one to each pupil/ pair of pupils. • Ask them to look carefully and try and work out what the photo is about. Then get them to join up with the adjacent number- e.g. 1 and 2, 3 and 4, etc • Then get the 1,2,3 and 4s together and 5,6,7, 8. • Generates mystery, it’s a kinaesthetic activity and there’s lots of talk
