Rectangle To find the area multiply the length of the base times the height
Rectangle A = bh
Parallelogram Draw a rectangle on graph paper. Cut off a triangle on one side and add it to the other. 1 2 3
Parallelogram The rectangle becomes a parallelogram so the formula is the same as for a rectangle
Triangle The area of a triangle is one half of the length of the base times the height
