2. Who and What is the PIC? • Comprised of community leaders, scientists, fishing industry representatives, and environmental interests • Convene regularly to discuss issues and propose research and policy measures that support the Pribilof Island communities and the local wildlife resources those communities depend on.

3. Goals • Seek agreement on areas of common interest • Identify information gaps • Identify actions that support the goal of sustainable fisheries, wildlife, and economies • Address four primary subjects including: Northern fur seals, seabirds, halibut and crabs, and economies

4. Action Items • Promote Northern Fur Seal research plan • Obtain Russian fur seal data • Follow up on Fur Seal Conservation Plan • Promote research on restoration of crab stocks • Support marine debris cleanup • Advocate for marine debris source control • Promote reduction of seabird/vessel interactions • Support & implement rat eradication & prevention • Promote ecosystem research at NPRB • Evaluate Pribilof Islands Habitat Conservation Area

5. Success • PIC’s diverse membership and collaborative design have helped make its recommendations persuasive before the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, National Marine Fisheries Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, North Pacific Research Board and other key decision making bodies.
