  2. Sex crime or sexual offence is serious. Penalties for this may be imposed for life. Adversely affects accused person’s reputation and relationships.

  3. Definition: Sex crime In layman terms.   4. Rape Forced or non-consensual sexual intercourse. Different types of rape are statutory rape spousal rape date rape

  5. Sexual abuse Any form of non-consensual contact (from an adult towards a child) of a sexual nature.  Includesimproper touching, molestation and forced sexual intercourse.

  6. Sexual Battery Intentional touching or hitting of another person against his or her will.  Includes molestation, fondling or forced sexual intercourse. Equivalent to rape in some states.

  7. Indecent Exposure Causing offense or alarm by the purposeful exposing of one's genitalia or breasts in public. Does not include breastfeeding in public. Do not apply in places where nudity is accepted.

  8. Child Molestation Any sexual interaction between an adult and a child, particularly a child under the age of 14. May occur in the home environment or by a person in a position of trust with the child.

  9. Child Pornography Pictures, videos or other images of children under the age of 18 engaged in any type of sexual conduct or actions of a sexual nature.

  10. Internet Sex Crimes Using internet to lure or entice a minor, to commit child pornography or to commit any sexual offence.

  11. Human Trafficking Is the illegal trade in human beings for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation or forced labour

  12. Prostitution Act of exchanging money for sexual acts.  Includes pandering i.e. procuring customers for a prostitute and solicitation i.e. offering or agreeing to the exchange of sex for money.

  13. Physiological Effects of Sexual Crime… Depression or dissociation Post traumatic stress disorder Suicide School/ learning problems Anxiety or increased alertness

  14. Physiological Effects of Sexual Crime Self- destructive behavior. Anti social behavior. Amnesia for abuse memories. Distrust of people.
