National e-Science Infrastructure Consortium • Initiative to collaboratively develop national infrastructure for e-Science in Thailand • Run as a consortium • All members manage with their own budget • Heads of all institutes are steering committee • Total Budget: USD$3.7Million • Use Virtual Organization (VO) to manage application areas • Shared resource, CPU and Data. Large-Scale Simulation Research Laboratory National Electronics and Computer Technology Center
National e-Science Infrastructure Consortium partners • Founding members: CU, SUT, KMUTT, HAII, and NSTDA • Open for new members toward National Infrastructure • Current application areas: • High eneygy physics • Climate change • Water and energy resources, and, environment • Computational science and engineering • Computer science and engineering Large-Scale Simulation Research Laboratory National Electronics and Computer Technology Center
Organization Large-Scale Simulation Research Laboratory National Electronics and Computer Technology Center
Roadmap Large-Scale Simulation Research Laboratory National Electronics and Computer Technology Center • Expanding Members • Expanding Resources • Expanding active projects • Expanding achievements
Resource Roadmap Large-Scale Simulation Research Laboratory National Electronics and Computer Technology Center
UniNet Thailand Education and Research Network Objectives • internet access for Universities • network infrastructure for research • Facilitate IT campus for Distance Learning Dr. WanchaiRivepiboon
ThaiSarn • The National Electronics and Computer Technology Center ( NECTEC ) setup a national-wide network called Thai Social/Scientific Academic and Research Network (ThaiSarn)
ThaiREN • Thailand Research Education Network Association APAN-JP 622M Internet2 155M TEIN4 310M International 7G Domestic 11G
TEIN4 • TEIN (Trans-Eurasia Information Network) – International links of Asia and Europe via dedicated high-capacity internet network for non-commercial, research & education purposes. First conceived in 2000 and now due to run until 2016. www.tein.asia
TEIN project stages in the 4th phase, TEIN4, and it is set to receive 16 Million Euro of funding from the EU and Asian partners. Using the powerful network links now in place, up to 10Gbps bandwidth, researchers across Asia-Pacific are participating in world-class collaborative research projects. www.tein.asia
Conclusion • Network is import to GRID. • We have to develop the connections among Asian countries and welcome new commer such as Indonesia.
