  2. Tides • Every day on Earth, the water levels in the oceans rise and fall along coastlines and beaches. • The rise and fall of the oceans are called tides. • The greatest rise of the water is called high tide. • The greatest fall of water is called a low tide.

  3. What Causes Tides • Gravity • The Sun and Moon pull on the Earth. • Water moves because it is fluid. • The oceans facingthe Moon bulge towards the Moon.

  4. Solar Eclipse • A solar eclipse is the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth and the Moon’s shadow fully or partially covers the Sun.

  5. Lunar Eclipse • A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon and the Earth’s shadow fully or partially covers the Earth.
