Is there a way to store real names alongside the email addresses. in Mailman? In majordomo it can be done like. "Christopher Lindsey" <lindsey+mailman @ ncsa.uiuc.edu>. lindsey+mailman @ ncsa.uiuc.edu (Christopher Lindsey).

  5. When I try this with mailman it just takes the email address. Another

  6. oddity that I've noticed is that mailman pulls spaces out of email

  7. addresses. For example:

  8. "test this"@ncsa.uiuc.edu

  9. fails (Mailman stops at the first space, fails to find an '@'

  10. so bombs).

  11. "test this@ncsa.uiuc.edu"

  12. which isn't a proper address, get's converted to

  13. testthis@ncsa.uiuc.edu

  14. This is not the proper behavior according to RFC 822, Section 3.4.1:

  15. Note: In particular, quoting is not permitted within atoms. For

  16. example when the local-part of an addr-spec must contain

  17. a special character, a quoted string must be used.

  18. Therefore, a specification such as

  19. Full\ Name@Domain

  20. is not legal and must be specified as

  21. "Full Name"@Domain
