Outgoing DRC ReportFuture • February – IPCC Update Report: • Global Warming is Occurring and Over 90% Certain that Human Activities are a Major Cause. • SUSTAINABILITY has passed the TIPPING POINT • The discussion has now shifted from whether climate change was caused by human activities to the actions which we must take to reduce climate change.

Outgoing DRC ReportFuture • A Foundation for Change is Being Built – United States Supreme Court • April 2, 2007 – U.S. Supreme Court says that current technology air pollution equipment must be installed whenever an industrial or utility power plant is refurbished. • April 3, 2007 – U.S. Supreme Court says that US EPA does have the authority to regulate CO2 as a pollutant.

Outgoing DRC ReportFuture • A Foundation for Change is Being Built – Wall Street • March 2007 – Goldman Sachs brokered a $45 billion leveraged buyout of the massive TXU Texas electric utility. • As a condition of the deal, Goldman Sachs required TXU to drop plans for all but 3 of its 11 planned new coal fired plants and required TXU to invest $400 million in renewable energy sources such as wind power.
