Instructions The object in Plotting Coordinates is to move the circle located at the origin to the coordinates given in the box at the upper left of the screen. Use the arrows located at the lower right hand of the screen to do this. The button above these arrows toggles between whole number coordinates and ones that go by quarters. The object of Finding Slopes is to determine the correct slope in order to hit the smiley-face target. The rise over run may be changed by clicking the arrows to the left of the boxes in which the rise and run numbers appear. The new slope will be shown both in the slope box and in the equation box. The object of Finding Y Intercepts is to determine the correct Y intercept with the given slope in order to hit the target (smiley face). Use the arrows to change the value of the intercept. It will show up in the intercept box and in the equation box. The object of Line Equations is to determine the correct line equation in the slope-intercept form in order to direct a ship (not shown on the screen) to target the alien smiley-face through the point on your ship. The object of Segment Length is to determine the distance from the point on your ship to the point on the disabled ship in order to connect a tractor beam of smiley-faces. You’ll need to use the Pythagorean Theorem. The object of Determine Coordinates is to determine the target coordinates of the alien smiley face in order to hit it with your photon torpedo.
