Discover how cells work together to form tissues like epithelial, connective, muscle, and nerve tissues, creating organs that perform vital functions in the human body. Learn about each tissue type and their specific roles.

Tissues are the next level of organization above cells. • There are four types of tissues in the human body: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue and nerve tissue.
Epithelial tissue • Epithelial tissue contains cells that are packed tightly together. Your outer layer of skin is epithelial tissue, The lining of your air passage is, too.
Epithelial tissue • Epithelial tissue lines your internal organs , helping them to carry out their functions while protecting the other tissues in the organ.
Connective tissue • Connective tissue adds support and structure to the body, fills spaces and stores fat.
Connective tissue Blood, bones, cartilage and fat cells all form connective tissue.
Muscle tissue • Muscle tissue is like elastic, its job is to contract and relax. • Skeletal muscles move the bones of the skeleton when directed by the brain to do so. (voulantary muscles).
Muscle tissue • Smooth muscle does invoulantary movement such as breathing. • Smooth muscles make up most of the walls of the body organs, Including blood vessels and digestive system.
Muscle tissue • cardiac muscles contract to move blood around the body.
Nerve tissue • Nerve tissue is found in the brain ,the spinal cord and the nerves. • Nerves send messages to the brain and the spinal cord.
Organs • An organ is a structure made up of at least two types of tissues that work together to form a specific job in the body.
