  2. THE PASSOVER STORY Our Great High Priest opened up the Holy of Holies for us!!! He went through the veil. His body is the veil. He invites us in to His sanctuary. He ever lives to intercede for us.

  3. Billions of Galaxies To One Galaxy To One Planet To One Country To One City To One Hill To One Throne To One Hope

  4. Where we will be today We are a “kingdom of priests” We are crowned to worship and pray There are four categories of priesthood 1.) Melchizedek Priesthood 2.) Levitical Priesthood 3.) The Priesthood of Jesus Christ 4.) The Kingdom of Priests

  5. The Take Aways We are “knighted” to be a kingdom of priests and as such we are wise to understand our priestly role and the authority we have as priests in God’s Kingdom. We have a story to tell, a dominion in which to exercise authority, a place in the kingdom and the privilege of being God’s treasured possession.

  6. More Take Aways We have a merciful High Priest who lives to intercede for us. He came from heaven stripped of his garments of splendor and beauty so we could be clothed in His righteousness. Because we have a merciful High Priest who is also a King , we are a royal priesthood and have been invited in to the sanctuary where we will be heard. Because we are a kingdom of priests , one day we will witness IOO MILLION (10,000 x 10,000) angels singing.

  8. Progressive Unfolding of Divine Revelation/Priests Genesis 14:18. Melchizedek, priest of God Most High Exodus 19:6. You will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Leviticus 4:10. The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense. Joshua 3:15. … as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan… I Kings 8:11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud , for the glory of the Lord filled his temple. Luke 1:5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendent of Aaron.

  9. (PUDR) Priest/Zechariah Luke 1,8. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God , observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. Once Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, he was chosen by lot , according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord burn incense.

  10. PUDR/Priesthood Hebrews 3:1. Therefore , holy brothers and sisters , who share in the heavenly calling , fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. I Peter 2:9 You are a chosen people , a royal priesthood, a holy nation. God’s special possession that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

  11. PUDR/Priests/Revelation Revelation 1:6 …and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and father- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 5:10…You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God and they will reign on the earth. Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

  12. Jesus Comes As King to those of us who believe in Him. He comes in to set up His government and write His law within our hearts . He comes to establish His kingdom within us, and to sway His scepter over our whole being and personality as our great and glorious King. We need Him to reveal himself to our souls as the one upon whose shoulders rests the government of the universe.

  13. Jesus is the King! He governs this world for the protection, discipline, and benefit of all believers in Him . This revelation of Jesus as King has a powerful sin –subduing tendency in the hearts of those who honor Him as their King. We will tend to live a more humble and obedient life for our King when we know that all events are directly or indirectly controlled by Him. We praise Him knowing that absolutely all things are designed for and will surely result in our good. Charles G. Finney

  14. Robed in RighteousnessAnointed with Oil For he clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness. Isaiah 22:1. Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, and so consecrated them. He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him. Lev 8:10,12

  15. Melchizedek • Psalm 110:4….You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek • Hebrews 5:6,10,20….priest forever in the order of Melchizedek • Hebrews 7:1,2,10,11,15,17….priest Melchizedek

  16. The Writer of Hebrews He was dealing with a group that was being persecuted and were longing for the old way of doing things. They had revered the priesthood and were not clear that Jesus as High Priest was higher , better. He was saying you revere Abraham. Abraham was before Moses. The Melchizedek priesthood supersedes Levitical priesthood.

  17. The Temple/ The Church 1.The Temple was rich; the Church, poor. 2. The Temple accepted; the Church rejected. 3. The Temple was established ; the Church was new. 4. The Temple represented a national identity; the Church was few in number.

  18. Change of Priesthood The concept of the priesthood had undergone a complete change in the New Testament. The early Christians were very conscious of the responsibility that had been placed on them as priests of God. As the early church increased in number and the Word of God spread, a great number of “priests were obedient to the faith” ( Acts 6:7)

  19. The Story of Genesis 14 1. Abraham and Melchizedek lived in the land of the Canaanites. 2. There was a battle of four invading kings who had taken Abraham’s nephew Lot and others prisoners . They also took their possessions. Abraham rescued Lot and all the people and their possessions. 3. King Melchizedek came and spoke to Abraham 4. King of Sodom came and said, ‘take the goods , I’ll keep the people.’

  20. Genesis 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine . He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High , who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

  21. Genesis 14:21-23 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom , “ I have raised my hand to the Lord , God Most High , Creator of heaven and earth and have taken an oath that I will accept nothing belonging to you , not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say , ‘ I made Abram rich.’

  22. Melchizedek 1. Brought forth bread and wine. He had fellowship with Abraham. 2. He blessed Abraham. 3. Abraham received revelation. God was revealed as ‘the Most High God’ 4. Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of the tithes.

  23. Abraham before Moses Abraham tithed to King Melchizedek. Abraham and Melchizedek preceded Moses and the Levitical Priesthood. You honor father Abraham, and Jesus Christ is in the priestly line of Melchizedek which was before Aaron and the Levitical priesthood . He ever lives ,he has an eternal priesthood.

  24. Hebrews 7:1-3 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings, and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness; then also, “king of Salem”, means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy , without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

  25. Hebrews7:11-12 If perfection could have been attained through the physical priesthood–and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood-- why was there still need for another priest to come , one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron. For when the priesthood is changed , the law must be changed also.

  26. Hebrews 7:14,17,22b,25 For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah , and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. For it is declared : “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant. But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

  27. Hebrews 7:26-27 Such a high priest truly meets our need– one who is holy blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priest, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins , and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

  28. Hebrews 7: 28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath , which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever. • Jesus was the temple thepriestand the sacrifice! • Aaron stumbled in temptation, Jesus prevailed and was sinless.

  29. Without spot or wrinkleStrong in faith And to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:27. ..shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames , and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle. Hebrews 11:34

  30. Jesus Christ is King Kingdom Scepter Dominion Crown Throne

  31. King of kings Lord Of lords! Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession…I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, …the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. I Timothy 6:12-16.

  32. King /Kingdom Therefore , since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” Heb12:28. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. I Tim 1:17

  33. Kingdom And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom establishing it and upholding it with justice and righteousness. Isa 9:8. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Matt13:43 No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. John 3:3 For the kingdom of God… is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom 14:17.

  34. Scepter The “scepter” will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his. Genesis 49:10. Your throne, O God , will last for ever and ever ; a “scepter” of justice will be the “scepter” of your kingdom. Psalm 45:6

  35. Scepter The Lord will extend your mighty “scepter” from Zion , saying “Rule in the midst of your enemies!” Psalm 110:2. But about the Son he says,, “ Your throne . O God, will last for ever and ever; a “scepter” of justice will be the “scepter” of your kingdom. Hebrews 1:8.

  36. THRONE To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Rev 3:21 Your throne , O God will last forever and ever. Hebrews 1:8 Sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven. Hebrews 8:1

  37. Throne He who was seated on the throne said, “ I am making everything new!” Then he said , “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Rev 21:5 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb… Rev 22:1

  38. Dominion For dominion belongs to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him. Psalm 22:28 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom , and your dominion endures through all generations. Psalm 145:13 For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. Daniel 6:26

  39. Dominion For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves , in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Col 1:13.

  40. Dominion X 3 • Genesis 1 • Ephesians 6 • Rev 3:11?

  41. Dominion only through the HOLY SPIRIT The crown , harp , bowl concept reveals that we serve a KING as priests under His authority and rulership. We worship under His authority. We pray under His authority. Yet, miraculously He invites us to participate . What a Resurrection day gift. What an amazing privilege. What an honor!

  42. Crown. Harp. Bowl . Crown……..Royalty, Royal Priesthood. Harp……….Worship ,Praise the King. Bowl……….Prayer, Fragrant Aroma.

  43. Crown I am coming soon . Hold on to what you have , so that no one will take your crown. Rev 3:11 The soldiers twisted together a thorn of crowns and put it on his head. John 19:2 ..who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. Psalm 103:4

  44. Crown (2) Blessings crown the head of the righteous. Proverbs 10:6 The prudent are crowned with knowledge. Proverbs 14:18 Everlasting joy will crown their heads. Isaiah 51:11 A crown of beauty instead of ashes. Isa 61:3 A crown that will last forever. I Cor 9:25. A crown of righteousness. 2 Tim 4:8 Receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 And when the Chief Shepherd appears , you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. I Peter 5:4 Be faithful , even to the point of death , and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. Rev 2:10

  45. Harp WORSHIP 1. 1Sam 10:5 You will meet a procession of prophets …with lyres , timbrels, pipes and harps ..and they will be prophesying. 2. 2Kings 3: While the harpist was playing , the hand of the Lord came on Elisha and he said, “ This is what the Lord says.. 3. David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God, with songs and with harps , lyres , timbrels..

  46. Harps 4. Psalm 33:2 Praise the Lord with the harp. 5. Psalm 71:22 I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness 6.Rev 5:8.. the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.

  47. Harps 7. Rev 14:2 And I heard a sound from heaven like a roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 8.Rev 15:2-3 those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name . They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses and of the Lamb: “ Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways ,King of the nations..

  48. Incense PRAYER 1.Ex 30:34 Then the Lord said to Moses , Take fragrant spices – gum resin, onchya and galbanum- and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer . It is to be salted and pure and sacred. 2. I Kings 9:11 My sons do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before him and to serve him , to minister before him and to burn incense.

  49. Incense 3.Psalm 141:2 May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. 4. Rev 8:3,4 Another angel, who had a golden censer , came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer , with the prayers of all God’s people , on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.

  50. Priest and Kings 1.Levitical Priests were not kings. 2.Melchizedek= King= Jesus in the line of Melchizedek---- you are “in Christ”= not just a priesthood, but a Royal Priesthood.
