  2. Capital • Lome is Togo’s capital and largest city. It has an estimated population of 737, 751. It is located on the gulf of Guinea.

  4. Government • Republic transitioning to multiparty democratic rule.

  5. Important people • President-Faure Gnassingbe • Prime Minister- Gilbert Houngbo • Governor- Adji Oteth Ayassor

  6. Important Places • Togoville- this is an important historical place in Togo Lome- this is the capital city

  7. Physical Landforms • Mountains and Rivers.

  8. Food • Fufu: this traditional food item of Togo is made from yam. • Pâtes: This is made from maize floor by making in to a dough with water. • Kokonte: This is a sort of a pates made from the locally grown Cassava. • Riz Sauce Arachide: First a peanut sauce is specially cooked up which eaten with rice. .

  9. Religion • 51% are indigenous beliefs • 29% is Christian • 20% Muslim.

  10. Clothes • The most important thing about Togolese clothing is that you MUST cover your knees. Wearing something shorter than knee-length is just not acceptable. While they would never say anything to a white person about it, they definitely give you weird looks if your knees are showing.
