Facts and figures • Fully electronic filing currently possible with 21 offices. • Fully electronic and PCT-EASY type filings accounted for 74% of all PCT filings in 2008 (64% and 10% respectively) (77% to April 2009) • at RO/IB (to April 2009)fully electronic 60%, PCT-EASY filings 6.4%, paper only filings 33.6%

E-filing components • PCT-SAFE Client • used to create the PCT request form, attach the application documents, digitally sign the application, package and transmit application to RO • PKI Services • industry-recognized digital signatures and security for electronic data • PCT-SAFE receiving Server • allows RO to receive, store and print electronically filed PCT applications
