Elevator Pitch If you meet someone in an elevator, what do you say before the doors open again? Hey! How are you? My business partner and I have a business located on Whiskey Rd. where we sell baked goods. We would love for you to stop by and place an order for any special occasion that you need.
The Team Who is on your team? What skills could other people provide to supplement your abilities? Our team consists of Mary Faubert and Rachel Joyce. Other people could help us with the baking and decorating, but also, communicating to the public.
The Problems What problems exist that your business solves? Our business is the only bakery in Aiken that specializes in Italian cakes and cupcakes for your special occasions and events.
The Solution How do you solve the problems? We solve problems by providing people with delicious baked goods. While they are eating our goods they forget all their problems.
The Technology What technology will you use and for what? (i.e. Twitter/Facebook to spread news about events) We use Facebook and Twitter and the newspaper to advertise our business.
Business Model Answer how will you make money and how much will you charge? We will make money buy selling baked goods. For cakes, we charge $40 for a medium size cake; for cupcakes, we charge $2.50 per cupcake and $1 for mini cupcakes. Marketing Plans How will you sell your services to people? We plan on people stopping by our shop to pick up a cupcake on the way home from work but also, we deliver the orders that are placed for special occasion.
Competition Who is the competition and why are you better? Our competition is Desserves located downtown. We are better than them because we are established from Italian background making us the best bakery in Aiken, South Carolina.
Current Status/Milestones What have we got so far? What dates do we want to hit? We have all of our appliances and the store front. Our goal is to be up and running by May 9, 2013.
Financing Goals Do we need money to start this? How much? Do we need to raise it? Yes, like any business we need money to start. We need around $40,000. We have all the money raised because it has been our lifelong dream to open a bakery so every paycheck Rachel and I set aside $100 for this dream.
