OTI Online Tie In System • A new Tie in system has been created to simplify communications about job status, shift to shift information and parts shortages for the factory floor. • The following slides cover how to use the new Online Tie In System. • The OTI icon has been added to the desktop of the 747 program CSWs. • OTI is a web based application, so much of its functionality will be familiar to those that have home PCs. • Full copy / paste functionality exists and all of the normal keyboard controls work as you would expect for a PC. • Tie Ins can be viewed without login but users must login to add or reply to tie ins. • The first time you login you need to use changeme as your password. You will then be prompted to enter a new password • Tie Ins can be sent to QA, ME, IE, Engr, Tooling, Different ACCs, Multiple shifts, Multiple locations and addressed to crew members (this is done by typing there name into the tie in) • There is no limit to the size of the tie in. • Access is controlled by the local area administrators and does not require additional forms to be filled out to add users. Just email their BEMSID to the administrator and they will be given access within minutes. • Tie ins can be emailed by managers if needed. • Links to drawings, documents or other web based applications can be added to tie ins.
OTI continued • To send a tie In to someone specific, write their name in the tie in. (Example Bob S. or Steve W.) when they search for tie ins they can use the Word Search field and enter their name ( example Bob Swanson or Steve Wilson) the system will find all tie ins where it sees Bob S, bob s, Steve W or steve w. The other filters set will exclude persons that are in other ACCs or positions as long as they are filled in. • To write General information Tie Ins where IP #s do not apply simply write Gen Tie or any other word or phrase that your group chooses in the IP field. To find these types of Tie Ins the user would search for them by entering the pre established word or phrase into the IP field and click search.
To write general information tie ins, simply write something like gen tie in the IP Number field. Each area can decide what word or phrase to use for this type of tie in.
