  1. How is it possible that we are involved in it? Solidarity Historicity Social character of humans

  2. In what sense is OS originatum a true state of sin? • OS originatum is similarto personal sin: • situation of alienation • lost of grace • inclination to evil

  3. In what sense is OS originatum a true state of sin? They are also distinct: In a personal sin, the situation of a alienation, lost of grace and inclination to evil are caused by man’s personal choice. In OS, these are consequences of man’s being part of humanity.

  4. How is it overcome? By baptism!

  5. If baptism really cancels it how come concupiscence still remains? Baptismtruly conquers OS originatum. But its victory must be Realized historically.

  6. What happens to those who could not be baptized? The case of adults… one’s personal desire to be baptized is sufficient. This desire = extension of the desire of the Church

  7. What happens to those who could not be baptized? The case of infants… the desire of the Church is sufficient and compensates for the absence of the infant’s desire.

  8. “Original Sin as originated” • Augustine: “culpable inclination to the will against God” • Anselm: “loss or privation of original justice” • Thomas: formally, “loss of original justice”; materially, “concupiscence” • Trent: Dogmatic status: • Essentially: “loss of sanctifying grace and original justice” • Effects: concupiscence, suffering, death • In our own terms: “situation of alienation from God” – manifested in the “sin of the world”, “inner division”, and “personal sins” • Theodramatic terms: human drama remove from Divine drama (has become tragic and comic)

  9. In whom do we perceive the effect and reality of OS originatum? In the adult-sinner… since OS operates and manifests itself in man’s personal sin

  10. In whom do we perceive the effect and reality of OS originatum? In the structures of social sins… institutionalized immorality, violence, corruption are just some concrete manifestation of OS originatum

  11. How is Mariology related to the doctrine of OS? In Mary, the sate of original justice is re-proposed… In Mary, the super-abundance of Christ’s grace re-proposes the integrity of the creature destined towards a total encounter with the Trinitarian God.

  12. What is the significance of this doctrine? (About Christ) OS affirms… Christ is the center of humanity; the power that conquers sin and evil. (About man) OS reveals depth and extension of the sin of the world

  13. Must we speak about OS “originatum” as state of alienation? We must speak about it… … biblically … and historically (saving history) Next
