QUEST-Middle School • Gifted Ed teachers provide focused direct services in small group settings • Gifted Ed teachers collaborate with core content teachers: • scheduled blocks of time • provide activities, ideas, and support • assist in challenging creative and high-ability students
Grade Level Offerings... • Grades 4-12--Audition process for Visual and Performing Arts • Grade 6—Dreamfest, Leadership Symposium • Grades 7/8--Dreamfest and 4 week pull-out creativity sessions • Grades 7/8--Leadership Symposiumand 4 week pull-out leadership sessions
On-going Services • Grade 6 -- Ability grouping in Math , International Journalism 6-week workshop • Grade 7-- Advanced Classes, Challenge Math, Photojournalism • Grade 8—Advanced Classes, Problemoids and Junior Great Books • All grades -- Odyssey of the Mind • All grades -- Collaborative Services with Other Northern Kentucky School Districts

Grade 7 • Advanced Classes in Math and Language Arts • “Challenge Math” pull-out math unit • “Photojournalism” pull-out language arts unit
Grade 8 • Advanced Classes in Math and Language Arts • “Problemoids” pull-out math unit • “Junior Great Books” pull-out language arts unit
Various Service Options • Cluster Groupings--students of common interests and/or abilities will work in small groups on tasks assigned by the teachers • Collaboration--gifted ed. and core teachers work together to plan and teach units • Differentiation of Curriculum--gifted ed. teachers work with core teachers to develop appropriately challenging activities for all students
Various Service Options (con’t) • Consultation--provision of materials and information to classroom teachers • Acceleration--various forms of advancing through material or grade levels • Advanced classes--provision of more challenging materials through higher level content, process and product

Assessment Opportunities • “Gifted Student Services Plan” (GSSP) is a component for all QUEST students • Parental input is needed on the GSSPs • Progress reports sent twice yearly • Compilation of extracurricular involvement
