Why MARS? December 2007 • Approximately 4,000 households registered for re-housing. • 50 – 70 new applications for re-housing per week. • 193 households registered as being in priority need of re-housing. • This week there are only 20 properties available to let. What have we achieved so far? • 105 tenancies • 56 landlords • Typical waiting time less than 3 months • 63% reduction in repeat homelessness • Improved tenancy sustainability– of tenancies established since September 2009 only 2 ended and in a planned way. • 31 empty properties brought back into use since September 2009. What next? • Continue to develop training and apprenticeship opportunities through MARS • Build on the number of empty properties brought back into use by sharing the learning of other good practice organisations • Gather and review feedback from partners to continue to deliver good practice • Share learning and good practice with other organisations • Review and develop Mansfield District Council Creating a District where People can Succeed
