  1. What Is Symbiosis? By: April and Katlyn Symbiosis is a close and long-term association between two or even more species.

  2. Different Types of Symbiosis Parasitism… A symbiotic association in which one organism benefits and the other is harmed. Mutualism... A symbiotic relationship in which both organisms benefit. Commensalism… A symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is unaffected.

  3. Example of Mutualism • One example of mutualism is an ant, a butterfly caterpillar, and an acacia. The acacia feeds the butterfly caterpillar. The butterfly caterpillar has nectar organs that the ant eats from. The acacia gets protection from the ant. The ant, Butterfly caterpillar, and the acacia

  4. Example of Commensalism • One example of commensalism is a whale and barnacle. The barnacle gets on the whale and gets to ride on it as the whale swims. The whale is unaffected.

  5. Example of Parasitism One example of parasitism is a dog and flea. The dog gets bit by the flea and the flea gets blood.
