Then in 1674 a second edition was published that changed it into 12 books. • The poem contains Biblical stories. • The poem begins with Satan and the other bad angels being defeated by the good angels and they were sent to hell. In the poem hell is also referred to as Tartarus. Paradise Lost by Milton
