Some helpful tips for effective Bible lesson presentations with data projectors

Make sure the projector is powerful enough to give a good image. Make sure the room is not so bright that a good image is impossible.
Do not have the room in darkness. You must be able to have eye contact with the children and they must be able to see you. Data projectors are not like slide or film projectors. They do not need darkness to operate effectively.
Make sure the projector is adjusted to avoid the “keystone” effect.
But make sure you stand where the children can see you and where you can see them. Do not obstruct the view of the screen or allow your shadow to fall on it.
If you can not show the presentation in suitable conditions do not show at all. Use a different presentationor lesson. X
Be thoroughly familiar with the lesson so you know the best place to advance to the next image.
Do not teach by reading from the script. Study it well, practise it often and present it as naturally and faithfully as possible.
Apart from an occasional brief glance, do not keep turning to look at the image. Keep your focus on the children.
If possible, have a laptop or monitor in your line of sight to check what is being projected. But make sure this is not a distraction to the children.

Do not interrupt the flow by continually asking for the next slide. Attempt to make the slide changes as seamlessly and naturally as possible. Finally, this is a fantastic tool for teaching children but it is only a tool.Your task is not to entertain or amaze but to present God’s Word.
