  2. Introduction Here at MSU, Greek Life is very important. For our project, our group decided to focus on the GPA’s of sororities over the past four years. By comparing GPA’s of sororities it may allow students to better decide what sorority they would rather be in based on sorority GPA’s. Throughout this PowerPoint, we have charted the GPA’s from Fall 2008 to Fall 2011.

  3. Procedure In order to gain the correct information for our project, I contacted the Office of Student Activities. I was then directed to MSU’s Greek Life website where you can find information regarding Greek Life. On the left hand side of the screen there is a link called a Greek Grade Report, which is on the following slide.

  4. The following chart shows a comparison between student GPA’s in Sororities and Fraternities with students not associated with Greek life.

  5. This following chart shows a linear comparison between Sororities and Non-Greek life student GPA’s.

  6. This following chart shows a linear comparison between Fraternities and Non-Greek life student GPA’s.

  7. The following is a run chart showing Sorority GPA’s.

  14. The following is a Pareto Chart showing GPA comparison in the Fall of 2008.

  15. The following is a Line Chart showing comparison of Sorority GPA’s.

  16. Conclusions From the previous charts, we can conclude that Sorority students do maintain a higher GPA than both Fraternities and students not affiliated with Greek Life. Throughout the years, GPA’s have stayed pretty close from semester to semester. During the past four years, the lowest GPA was 2.95 and the highest was 3.31 and are usually 3.0 or above.

  17. Recommendations After thoroughly looking at each chart, it shows that the GPA’s of sorority students are closely related from semester to semester. It seems as if Sorority houses should focus on studies and require students to maintain a higher GPA in order to stay within the Sorority. Although the GPA’s of the students are not bad, there is always room for improvement and those improvements could mean more sorority sisters to join and more students to be attracted to MSU.

  18. For questions… If you or someone you know has questions about Greek Life here at Morehead State University feel free to visit: http://www2.moreheadstate.edu/greek/index.aspx?id=87 If you do not find information relevant to what you are looking for you may call the Office of Student Activities at 1-606-783-2071 or stop by the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC), Room 204 for more assistance.
