1. Computer/E-mail Computer • Windows 7 Operating System • Every employee has a home folder on the network • Every employee has access to various shared folders on the network • You have admin rights over your own machine Email • On campus, use Outlook 2013. • From home, use Outlook Webmail: http://mail.smaa.org/owa Computer/webmail login Username: first.last Temp Password: last E-mail address: first.last@smaa.org Network Drives (demo)
2. MyFalcon (Veracross) • We use MyFalcon, powered by Veracross, as our Student Information System • Class pages, grading, attendance, directory, calendar is all through MyFalcon • Communication to your classes through MyFalcon MyFalcon Login http://portals.veracross.com/smaa Username: first.last Password: will be e-mailed to you (brief teacher portal demo)
3. Google Apps • Students in grades 4-8 will have access to Google Apps, which includes various collaboration tools. Only students in grades 5-8 will have e-mail enabled. Google Apps Login http://drive.google.com Username: first.last@smaa.org Password: will be e-mailed to you
4. Phone/Voicemail • Teachers and staff have a phone extension • Voicemails will be e-mailed to your Outlook • You must delete your voicemails from your phone or your box will fill up Voicemail Pin and Greeting setup Visit the Helpdesk Site

Classroom Resources All Classrooms JK-Grade 8 • Interactive Whiteboard, projector, document camera Classrooms grades K-5 • 5 or 6 desktop computers per class Classrooms grades K-2 • 6 iPads per class Classrooms grades 3-4 • 1 ipad Cart and 1 laptop cart Classrooms grade 5 • 2 Chromebook carts Science Labs • 12 netbooks each

3. Printers and Copiers • Every classroom has a B/W printer with scan to e-mail capabilities. It can also copy, but for 5 or less copies only • Ink Request/Service – send e-mail to helpdesk@smaa.org • There are color printers available in the following places: LMC, MS Lab, Teacher’s Lounge, Upstairs Hallway, EEP Office • There are copy machines available in the following locations: Teacher’s Lounge (1 color, 3 b/w) Front Office (1 color – for admin use) • 1 Laminating machine available in the Teacher’s Lounge
4. LMC Resources The following items are available for checkout from Mrs. Yogaratnam in the LMC: • Chromebooks • Chargers (macbook, ipad/iphone, android, Dell) • Projector Adapters (for macbookor iPad) • Digital Cameras (individual or a set) • Pocket Camcorders • Presentation Remotes • MP3 Players with Audiobooks • Voice Recorders
BYOD • You are welcome to bring your own devices to campus and utilize our network • Students in grades 6-8 are required to bring a device to school every day Directions • Connect on Wifi to St. Mary’s BYOD with the following password: ibfalcon7 • Open up a browser and accept the AUP • Choose Staff/Faculty and log in with your computer/email credentials
Device Setup and Checklist • Log in and test computer account/e-mail and change password • Visit the helpdesk website: https://smaahelpdesk.wikispaces.com/home • Find your home folder/shared folders • Find and open Outlook (All Programs Microsoft Office) • Log in to webmail (http://mail.smaa.org/owa - use computer login) • Log in to MyFalcon (Veracross) (http://portals.veracross.com/smaa ) • Log in to Google Drive (for teachers and Instructional Assistants in grades 4-8 only) (http://drive.google.com) • If interested, add e-mail to your mobile devices (optional) • Setup voicemail (By Sep 4th)
