  6. FY19 Budget Impacts • And it hasn’t been just hack ‘n slash! • COTS Investments: • First year of Yearlong Exploration of Social Science Program (YESS) implementation • Full-time secretarial support for ENST & IEM • Primate Captive Care Certificate online • Faculty Early Career Grants • Undergraduate Research Grants • Graduate Assistantships

  7. FY19 Budget Impacts • And it hasn’t been just hack ‘n slash! • Students and Faculty continue to do big things: • LAJ in Mexico • New Field Schools in Ecuador and Bhutan • Generous Benefactors (Record Year!): • $1.8M for scholarships in Math, Physics, Biology & Chemistry • 3-barrel brewing system for CRBW

  8. FY19 Budget Impacts • What keeps me awake at night: • The Efficiency Target rollover money is 1-time only. • Efficiencies erode without continual vigilance. • Big costs are on the horizon. Some of these we know about and are preparing for. Some we don’t and aren’t. • Student Credit Hours (# of students x # of credits = SCH) are fickle and this year is not looking great for COTS.

  9. FY19 Budget Impacts • What to do with $750,000? • Be Responsible! • COTS Programmatic Strategic Reserve Fund • COTS Equipment Strategic Reserve Fund • Invest in innovations! • You tell me (us) your ideas.
