Institutes of Study Temple High School established the IOS in 2008. There are six Institutes that each have at least one Program of Study. The Institutes created “Education with a Purpose”.
Programs of Study Temple High School offers 27 programs of study in 12 different career clusters. Each student must complete 4 CREDITS within a program of study.

IOS of Education & Training; Hospitality & Tourism; AND Human Services Programs of Study: • Teaching & Training • Restaurants & Food/Beverage Services • Travel & Tourism • Personal Care Service
IOS of Health Science Programs of Study: • Therapeutic Service • Texas BioScience Institute • Sports Medicine
IOS of Government & Public Administration AND Law, Public Safety, Corrections, & Security Programs of Study: • National Security • Criminal Justice • Emergency & Fire Mgmt Services
IOS of Arts, AV Technology, & Communication Programs of Study: • Performing Arts • Visual Arts • Printing Technology • Audio & Video Technology
IOS of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources AND Transportation, Distribution & Logistics Programs of Study: • Animal Systems • Power, Structural & Technical Systems • Plant Systems • Facility & Mobile Equipment Maintenance
Capstone Projects Students must complete a capstone project during their Senior year. These projects are completed during their “capstone class” in conjunction with their teacher.
Educator Externship Temple High School’s Educator Externship is a one-day opportunity for teachers to Job Shadow in local businesses related to their field of instruction in order to create stronger connections between the classroom and the workplace.
