Independent Living Centre is looking for people to use a variety of disabled and non-disabled puppets to perform scripted shows for children. Volunteers will be asked to learn the scripts and understand the issues present for disabled populations. Physical stamina, strong public speaking skills, solid English skills, and ability to work closely with others and accept feedback are required. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region needs you! Drivers and Driver Assistants are needed between September and December to help with scheduled food pick-ups. Drivers must have driving experience, be 25 or older with a G license and have a clean abstract. A DZ license is an asset. Warehouse Associates are also in demand to perform several tasks -customer service, preparing food orders, and other general warehouse duties. Only weekday positions available at this time. Volunteers develop a warm and friendly relationship by going to a person’s home and participating in activities that help to maintain their dignity and build their self-esteem.
