  7. What are LCSH/MESH? • Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) or Medical Subject Headings (MESH) • Standardized controlled vocabulary • Identifies resources on the same topic • Most libraries use LCSH and MESH • Consistency of terminology makes research simpler

What is the DDC? • Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) • Arrangement of materials on the shelves (address of the item) • Materials on the same subject will be in the same vicinity • Read About the Library  Collection Description  Main Book Collection on the library Web site to better understand how the DDC works
