And now residents of Holmfirth in the Holme Valley are taking on the spirit of Nora Batty and preparing to fight Tesco over plans to build a superstore in the town. The supermarket giant is facing an angry backlash after it applied for consent to construct a store in the rolling hills and dales where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed.
