  2. Mapping Food Security Actions at Country Level WHY a mapping tool on food security actions ? Responds to an expressed need from countries for systematic inventory and information on food security actions, e.g. “mapping’’, - 2007 CFS requested FAO to assist member countries in developing such information - 2008 CFS requested review of monitoring and reporting processes - 2009 CFS reform process and work of UN-HLTF - Following AFSI meeting in Dec 2009, CFS Chair requested CFS Secretariat and HLTF to develop a proposal for a country-owned ‘mapping’ mechanism

Primary users: National governments Associated public institutions involved in food security and nutrition policies and programmes Other users at country level: Multi-stakeholder bodies including representatives of civil society and private sector Development partners Users at international levels: CFS Global donor coordination mechanisms Multilateral partners Civil society

Mapping Food Security Actions at Country Level Institutional arrangements at country level Country-led and building on existing institutions Serving national coordination mechanisms for food security and nutrition to: Share information between relevant institutions Promote more effectively integrated policies and programmes

  6. Mapping Food Security Actions at Country Level Next Steps Identify countries which are already mapping food security actions at country level Share lessons and discuss the way forward at CFS 36th – October 2010
