Collections & knowledge • The Allard Pierson Institute will develop activities and programmes with and for professors, researchers and students for the purpose of academic education. Existing events such as Summer School, MuseumCamp, Symposium on the History of Food, TypeAmsterdam and Allard Pierson Lecture will be incorporated. • The Allard Pierson Institute will create a program for internships and fellows
Collections & knowledge • We will provide access to the collections in the Reading Rooms, the Artis Library and online • We will take care of collection management, metadating, digitization and presentation of the collections, in house and on campus • Activities will be organised on each of the 14 knowledge domains every year
Public & Presentations • Allard Pierson Expo: • A permanent exposition will tell stories of different cultures, from Ancient Egypt to Modern Amsterdam, using objects of all collections • We will develop two large expositions a year, on general topics, for a broad audience • Allard Pierson Live: We will create a free zone where visitors will be able to participate in research • Allard Pierson Film: We will create a small cinema for documentaries on history and science, for small concerts or plays • Heritage on campus: We will present our collections on campus

Exploitation • Allard Pierson Lounge: visitors, students and employees will meet in the lounge, next to the extended café (with new terrace) • Allard Pierson Shop: the Museum Shop will be integrated in the free Live Zone • Allard Pierson Meetings: an assortment of meeting rooms will be available / for rent
Planning • First Live project; restoration mummie coffin: November 2017 • End last exhibition at the Special Collections: December 2017 • Implementation new organisation: January 2018 • Reception moved to main entrance: January 2018 • Redevelopment café: March 2018 • Next Live projects; GeoZone and ArcheoHotspot: April 2018 • Start building extension: April 2018 • Completion permanent exhibition: March 2019 Opening!
