APAN Baseline Software ZIMBRA Community (v7.1.5): (APAN Groups) A collaborative social networking software platform with a variety of core applications running on top of it such as blogs, forums, media galleries, wikis, event calendars, photo & video embedding & more. Applications from third parties using API’s & REST stacks can be installed or integrated with platform. ZIMBRA Community is ASP.NET, C+ & Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise 2010:(APAN Sites) Content &document management program used to provide intranet portals, document & file management, collaboration, websites, enterprise search and workflow automation. Enterprise also provides a complete development stack based on web technologies & standard-based API’s.

FY14: Op United Assistance • APAN provided 101st Airborne KM’s with numerous resources (past KM Plans, LL, templates, mapping ideas, etc.) • Customized community based on specific requirements & requests from: • DOD CIO • AFRICOM HQ JOC • 101st Airborne (COP & KM) • 82nd Civil Affairs Battalion • Intelink “Intel Update” POC • Conducted daily teleconferences • Extensive training for managing map feeds & layers • Developed custom solution for 101st Airborne with UN OCHA map icons
FY14: RIMPAC - Op Restore Griffon • APAN included in exercise planning (US & Japanese) from beginning • APAN developed exercise KM plan for CJTF • Conducted APAN training with key exercise participants seven days before Startex • Provided on-site support to exercise coord cell, CJTF and CMOC: • CJTF quickly & easily translated blocks of texts using APAN translation tools • APAN chat used extensively to communicate with ships at sea and CJTF • Agile development provided custom solution for tracking RFIs within hours of CJTF Request • Lessons Learned being used for next event
FY14: Op Damayan-Typhoon Haiyan • APAN & JOC KM’s coord creation of COI’s • APAN KM’s support to Multinational Coord Center (MNCC) at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines • KM’s provided training to AFP in Manila, Cebu, Joint Staff, National Disaster Risk Reduction Center & World Food Program, Manila • Provided 24/7 APAN help desk services • Daily Metrics & Reporting services to JOC were valuable measuring tools • APAN & NGA integrated Mapping services • APAN Software Dev’s responded to capabilities change requests • Developed Lessons learned for future events PACOM Group MNCC Group
FY14: Op MH370 Malaysian Airline Search • HQ Joint Operations Center (JOC) Carwoola, Australia requested APAN group to coordinate search efforts • Report & findings release to specific Australian Def. Force Mbrs • Managed by Australian Military Group Owner • Sitreps, debris pictures, Sonar sounds and search areas were loaded into the APAN mapping capability. • Still being used sporadically as of 15 January 2015

APAN v8.0 Upgrade APAN Mobile: Any wherewithAny device! Entire APAN Community v8.0 applications are built around the cornerstone of Responsive design, which sizes appropriately to desktop computers or handheld devices - making "bring your own device" a viable option for any event or exercise
APAN “Beta” Web Site APAN Beta Web Site Developing Beta Site to begin testing of APAN v8.0 online APAN v8.0 is in advanced stage of testing First available to internal APAN team Then it will be available to specific APAN “power users” to test and provide feedback This is the final stage to polish up the site graphics, content, navigation, layout, usability and more Focus will be on COCOM stakeholder feedback and recommendations. Site can be used for future experimentation and capability testing.
FY15: APAN Maps Enhancements Five Phases • Create intuitivesingle page process for map creation • Empower APAN users to utilize templates for briefs, HADRs and other events or use cases. • Enhance real-time communication &collaboration • Create custom geospatial feeds to support external mobile & tablet devices • Ability for APAN users to share feeds & make data public for other APAN communities, and/or possible users outside of APAN (NGOs, etc.) Create Map Share
FY15: SMS into APAN Groups • Developing a capability for users with “dumb phones” to send SMS messages into APAN groups. • Capability allows personnel operating in remote areas who require one-way transmission of information • This capability would be used in an area of limited communication pathways • AFRICOM requested this capability to support their operations in remote areas of Africa.
FY15: APAN Forms For APAN users who require customized, structured information from mobile & web users operating in D-DIL environments. • This capability would provide following to APAN users and groups: • Ability to use a Mobile app or Web interface to create the form(s) • Develop custom built forms & assessments (i.e. RFI’s, assessments, SITREPS, RFA, etc.) • Provide analytical capabilities • Geolocation of submitted forms • Supports Users in D-DIL environments (AFRICOM AOR)
