  1. 2012 FRAC WG SBI Participants of the SBI WG Meeting on December 07, 2012 BASF Martin Semar Gerd Stammler Bayer CropScience Frank Göhlich (Thierry Gestat de Garambe) Andreas Mehl Klaus Stenzel Dow Greg Kemmitt Makhteshim Martin Huttenlocher Syngenta Andy Leadbeater Liz Shaw Helge Sierotzki Members of the WG SBI not participating Du Pont Jean-Luc Genet, Robert Bird New potential future members Cheminova Andy Bailey (no participation due to lack of data) TelCon with FRAC Brazil BASF Ronaldo Rodriguez BCS Rodrigo Guerzoni

  2. 2012 FRAC WG SBI • Wheat • Leaf Spot (Mycosphaerellagraminicola / Septoriatritici) • after slight increase in frequency of less sensitive isolates 2002 to 2004 and stabilization 2005 to 2008 and again in 2009 trend to slightly higher EC50 values in UK, F, D, IRL, this trend has slowed down in 2010 to 2012 • few outliers with higher EC50 values in lab tests detected since 2009, slightly increasing in 2012. • Powdery mildew (Blumeriagraminisf.sp. tritici / Erysiphegraminisf.sp. tritici) • DMI’s, Amines - stable, no change since over more than 15 years • Wheat brown rust (Pucciniatriticina) • stable, no change, all in range of last 8 years • Eyespot (Tapesiaspp, syn. Oculimacula spp.) • (PTZ): Stable since 9 years for both, R- and W-types, low RF values • DTR / HTR (Pyrenophoratritici-repentis) • No monitoring in 2012

  3. 2012 FRAC WG SBI • Barley • Powdery Mildew (Blumeriagraminisf.sp. hordei / Erysiphegraminisf.sp. hordei) • Sensitivity in the range observed in the previous years in europe • Reduced sensitivity was reported in barley powdery mildew in western and eastern Australia (ACNFP/Curtin University). • Scald (Rhynchosporiumsecalis) • stable, nochange in the last 10 years • Net Blotch (Pyrenophorateres /Drechslerateres) • 2011 and 2012: in bothyearsstable, withinrangeof last years • Ramulariacollo-cygni • Data from Ireland and UK showed a similar sensitivity distribution in a narrow range as the year before.

  4. 2012 FRAC WG SBI • Soybean • Asian soybean rust (Phakopsorapachyrhizi) • sensitivity baseline established in Brazil based on 2005/6 data, extensive monitoring since 2007/8. 2010+2011: The performance of DMI’s used alone was reduced especially under curative application timings and/or extended spray intervals. • 2012 • FRAC Brazil: in practice more focus on less curative applications, no extended spray intervals, application of DMI in mixtures only • 2012: The performance of DMIs used alone was reduced. • Sensitivity shifts have been observed with a trend to stabilize in season 2010/11. This trend continued in season 2011/12. Some variability between and within populations were found in addition to regional differences. • Recommendations for Asian soybean rust remain unchanged: • always in mixtures, apply preventively or as early as possible, at recommeded rates, in intervals recommended by the manufacturers and adjusted to the disease epidemics. Avoid extended spray intervals.

  5. 2012 FRAC WG SBI • OSR - Leptosphaeriamaculans / L. biglobosa (Phoma lingam) • 2006-2011: stable sensitivity range, no indication for reduced sensitivity. 2012 ongoing • OSR - Sclerotiniasclerotiorum • 2011: no indication for reduced sensitivity. 2012 ongoing • Sugar beet (Cercosporabeticola) • Stable situation in last 3 years in central Europe. • broad range of sensitivity leads to assumption that shift took place in the past • field performance can be affected when solo DMI’s are used • Grape vine - Powdery Mildew (Erysiphenecator) • amines – no monitoring in 2011, 2012 under evaluation • DMI - 2011 and 2012: In EU normal range of fluctuation as in previous years with regional differences • Apple - Scab (Venturiainaequalis) • 2011+2012: no sensitivity changes in European populations, fluctuation range as in previous years. Proportion of less sensitive isolates is low and stable • Apple - Powdery Mildew (Podosphaeraleucotricha) • 2012 ongoing

  6. 2012 FRAC WG SBI • Tomato/potato – Alternariaalternata / Alternariasolani • Monitoring was started in 2012 in Europe. • Homogenous sensitivity of both pathogens was observed in different countries across Europe • SBI-CLASS III • Grape vine - Botrytis cinerea (Fenhexamid) • Monitoring analysis for 2012 ongoing. • Statement for 2011 monitoring: Resistant isolates were detected in Europe, but with stable and low frequency over the last years not affecting the field performance. • Fenpyrazamine • Moa classification to be confirmed • Invitation to next SBI WG meeting • Next meeting Friday, Dec 13, 2013
