Earth’s atmosphereis the layer of gases that surrounds the planet and makes conditions on Earth suitable for living things. • Earth’s atmosphere is divided into several different atmospheric layers extending from Earth’s surface outward: • Exosphere-where satellites and space shuttles are • Ionosphere-negative/positively charged ions bounce • Thermosphere-aurora (northern lights) & 1800 degrees C • Mesosphere-ozone ends here 10% (meteors burn) • Stratosphere-ozone begins here 90% • Troposphere –where weather happens/where we live jets fly • That Snake Must Think I’m Evil! • The Steaks Must Thaw In Europe!
