  3. In subject matter learning we overlook the role of language as a medium of learning, and in language learning we overlook the fact that content is being communicated. Mohan, 1986

Whatis CLIL exactly? • CLIL is an approach in which a foreign language is used as a tool in the learning of a nonlanguage subject in which both language and the subject have a joint role.’ (Marsh in Coyle, 2006). • Language (usually L2) as the means of communicating in a subject area. Content and language, learned at the same time!

Design a CLIL Lesson Plan • Work in groups of 2-4. • Usingtheblanklesson plan given and themodel as your guide, design a lesson plan thatincorporatesthe ideas and principles of CLIL. • Eachgroupwill come tothefront and presenttheir ideas.
