  1. Stand Your Ground

  2. Stand Your Ground Defeating Our Cultural Bullies

  3. Stand Your Ground Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at a place where there was a field full of lentils, Israel’s troops fled from them.  But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field. He defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the LORD brought about a great victory. 2 Samuel 23:11-12

  4. Stand Your Ground • Cultural Bully # 1 • You Are What You Do A dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Luke 22:24-25

  5. Stand Your Ground • Cultural Bully # 2 • You Are What You Own! “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15

  6. Stand Your Ground • Cultural Bully # 3 • You Deserve Pleasure! It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

  7. Stand Your Ground When the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers, they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing, and cried, “A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!” Each stood in his place around the camp... Judges 7:20-21
