  1. Helen Keller Famous women leader

  2. Birth and early life Helen was born in Tuscumbia on June 27th 1880 to Arthur and Kate Keller. 19 months later Helen became ill with what doctors thought was “brain fever”. She recovered from the illness with two problems: she was blind and deaf. Her parents found that they could not control Helen because she would fall into fits and rages. So they got Anne Sullivan. Anne taught Helen how to sign words and to “Talk” to people. Helen actually learned to speak when she was ten.

  3. LATER ON IN LIFE Helen toured the world telling people her story. And helping other people in the same position as she was.

  4. Quotes Never bend your head. Hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye. ~Helen Keller No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit. ~HELEN Keller
