CTE Major Work and Accomplishments • Career Ready 101 Online is the very first course provided through CTE to meet ACT 1280 of 2013 that will require all students to complete an online digital learning class prior to graduation. • Visited three C.A.S.E. agriculture programs in Missouri with targeted Arkansas administrators and teachers. • Conducted first World Food Prize, Arkansas Youth Institute at the University of Arkansas where two representatives were selected to attend the Global youth Institute this fall in Des Moines, Iowa. • National Association Agriculture Education Award winners from Arkansas: • Outstanding Middle/Secondary Ag Ed Program – Newport High School, Mr. Steve Davis • Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Ag Ed Program – Arkansas State University – BeeBe Department of Agriculture, Mr. Jerry Sites
CTE Major Work and Accomplishments • Partnered with Adult Education, ADE and DWS to rollout Microsoft IT Academy across Arkansas. (283 high schools) • Continued partnership with SREB in developing national curriculum called “Advanced Careers”. Arkansas’ program is called “Innovations in Science and Technology. • The Office of School Improvement is currently field testing a new Mobile Applications Development program, with a state-wide roll out date of 2015. • At the 2013 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, Arkansas was recognized for their contribution to the national community service project called “Share Our Strength”. • The Office of School Improvement is currently field testing a new Mobile Applications Development program, with a state-wide roll out date of 2015.

CTE Major Work and Accomplishments Skilled & Technical Sciences The Cabot team won first place and were invited to attend the National Competition. Ford Motor Company hosted the FORD/AAA Student Auto Skills Contest at Pulaski Technical College (South Campus) on April 24, 2013.
CTE Major Work and Accomplishments Skilled & Technical Sciences HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) held their state conference on March 13 - 15, 2013. There were over fifteen schools and over four hundred students represented. Barbara Dimon serves as Arkansas HOSA Director.

Arkansas Works Program Success • Passed ACT 1285 – Provides opportunities for counties and school districts outside of the 21 original ArkansasWorks counties access to a College and Career Coach program. Sponsored by Rep. Andy Mayberry and Rep. David Branscum • Implemented New Grant Application Process • Increased Amount of Counties Served from 21 to 28 • Added four new Two-Year Colleges: • ASU-Mountain Home • Black River Technical College • College of the Ouachitas, and • Cossatot Community College at the University of Arkansas
Arkansas Works Program SuccessData for High School Graduation rates and Financial Aid application is currently not available from ADE and ADHE respectively • When evaluating the data from prior to the present (2009 – 2013) of the Career Coach Program, the AR Works Career Coach Program has made an average impact in 21 served counties on the following measures: • 15.36% average increase in Smart Core Enrollment (79.97% to 95.33%) • 19.82%average increase in the College-Going Rate (33.10% to 52.92%) • .55 average increase in ACT Scores (19.53 to 20.08) • -6.41% average decrease in the Remediation Rate (63.58% to 57.17%) Rivercrest students tour the ANC Aircraft and Metals Engineering Center
