1 Unpack Contents • Please take inventory of the package contents. You will need these for set up. • Contents: • GROUPON Device • RJ45 Ethernet Cable • RJ11 Dial Cable • Barcode Reader and Stand • Power Supply and Cord • Setup Guide
2a Connect Ethernet cable If you are processing via the Internet: Remove cover from the bottom of device. Plug the RJ-45 connector on one end of the blue cable into the port labeled ETH on the bottom of the device. Plug the RJ-45 connector on the other end of the cable to an open LAN port on the router.
2 And OR 2b Connect Dial Cable If you will be using dial access either for a primary method of communications or as a backup to the Ethernet connection, you can connect via a phone jack to the GROUPON device. Remove cover from the bottom of device. Plug the RJ-45 connector on one end of the phone line (gray) into the port labeled identified by the telco icon on the bottom of the device. Plug the other end of the phone line into the wall jack.
3 Connect Barcode Reader The barcode reader must be attached prior to powering up the GROUPON device. Insert the reader’s USB connector into the port identified by the USB icon: . 4 Connect Power Connect the power pin to the terminal and rotate counter-clockwise to lock in place. At this point you should have all necessary cables connected, so you can replace the cover. Now you can apply power to the system by plugging into a power strip.
