Reid et al Zoledronic acid infusions given at intervals ofup to one year produce effects on bone turnover and bone densityas great as those achieved with daily oral dosing with bisphosphonateswith proven efficacy against fractures, suggesting that an annualinfusion of zoledronic acid might be an effective treatmentfor postmenopausal osteoporosis.
