National Kappa Kappa Iota A professional organization of educators, by educators, for educators, and prospective educators who wish to network, grow professionally, motive and encourage other educators. Initially formed in 1921 and is now a 501c3 professional organization of educators.
Benefits of membership in Kappa Kappa Iota • Every Kappa member receives The Kappa Profile four times each year. This professional publication not only keeps you up on the happenings of Kappa Kappa Iota, it also has useful professional articles in every edition. • Another benefit that is available to members are the many National Scholarships/Grants given out to members and non-members during the National Convention each year. • A third benefit of membership is the expertise of the National Executive Director. She is available and willing to assist you with any questions you may have from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Kappa jewelry and merchandise is also available from National Headquarters. • At the National Convention each year, numerous awards and certificates are presented to those Kappa members who excel in the areas of membership, professional development, service, and attendance. • Outstanding leaders in the field of education present professional development opportunities each year at the National Convention. This is available to every Kappa member who attends the convention. • Ability to network with educators for job opportunities across the nation.
Campus Kappas • Campus Kappa membership is available to prospective teachers. • Campus Kappas organize their own chapters and recruit new members. • Cost effective membership ½ National Dues. • Campus Kappas are able to attend National Convention as non-voting participants • Campus membership is extended to full time education majors on college/university campuses and require a sponsor. • Campus Kappas can collaborate with and visit professional Kappa Kappa Iota meetings or philanthropic events and professional development programs
