  4. University of Isfahan offers undergraduate degrees in 70 fields and graduate degrees in more than 180 programs. • The university has academic agreements for academic cooperation with a number of foreign universities, to follow up its mutual international programs of professor/student exchange, joint projects, joint workshops and conferences and joint publication.

A Comprehensive University • One of Top national Universities • Increasing its International Ranking • 650 Full-Time and 1000 Part-Time Faculty Members • About 45 % are Associate and Full Professors • More than 15000 Students in three levels (bachelor, master and PhD). 60% are females. • About 50 % are studying at Postgraduate Levels • International students • One of the Largest University Campuses in Iran • 13 Faculties, • Research Centers /Institutes and Research Groups • Centers of Excellence

  8. The Scope: Capacity Building in Research, Education, … D. Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and Sustainability • STI are increasingly recognized as being fundamental to achieve the Sustainable Development. • A number of developing countries have used STI to improve production and productivity of agriculture and industries, to meet healthcare needs and to overcome environmental challenges etc. • Several developing countries have experienced rapid economic catch up: China, Republic of Korea and Taiwan. They were able to absorb and creatively adapt international technological knowledge, and achieve accelerated growth. • STI sectors are crucial for developing qualified manpower and STEM workforce to respond to global and local challenges of water, climate change, energy and food security for the globe.

Playing a Role in Promoting Science and Technology University of Isfahan pursues the goal of promoting research and technological development to share Iran’s policies of sustainable development through the following key objectives: • Development of Human Resource Capacity for science, technology and innovation as well as science education in Isfahan Province as well as the country, • Strengthening Institutional Capacity in scientific research and technological development among its academia, • Scientific, Technological and Research Collaboration and Cooperation with its national and international partners, • Exchange (Dissemination) of Information on Scientific and Technological Research and Development through workshops, conferences and meetings etc, and • Harmonizing Science, Technology and Innovation policies of the Society.

The Reason behind the IBSE Center • Given that picture of a rapid change of technology, we see a much slower rate of evolution of the school, and that means we're seeing a bigger and bigger gap between school and tech society. • This gap is responsible for the deterioration of performance in our schools and our educational systems. • It becomes harder and harder to get our children to buy into the idea that school is satisfying their needs, that school is a bridge to the twenty-first century.

More Experiences of Cooperation with the German Universities • A joint research entitled “A cognitive-functional study of discourse markers in Persian” by Prof. Amouzadeh from Uni. of Isfahan and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, supported by Alexander Von Hombolt. • In cooperation between University of Isfahan, University of Strasbourg and University of Freiburg, trilateral conferences on “Knowledge Transfer among Iran, Germany and France” have been held in Isfahan (2016) and in Strasbourg (2017). The third round will be held in Freiburg in October 2019. • The Presence of DAAD Representative at the University of Isfahan for teaching, collaborating joint programs and so on for a long time, • A joint project Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Isfahan and the Psychotherapy Outpatient Clinic Marburg & AG Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Marburg University.
